Happy New Year

Presidents Trial

A nice day for a change was welcome for this years running of our annual Presidents Trial. Trial winner, Sam Ludgate, rides once a year, drags the old Jotagas out of the garage, dusts off a few cobwebs, splashes some petrol in tank and a drop of oil on the chain, comes to Post Hill and goes round for a measly 1 mark loss, an amazing ride! On the 50/50 route Jonathan Chambers took the win on his Ariel losing just 11 marks, whilst over on the easier route very close marking, with Philip Hammond just getting the better of Nige Pearson by a 1 mark lead.

 Stan Pitts trial report

After spending all day Saturday, digging, shifting, plotting, riding and planting flags. 14 sections were waiting for the Stan Pitts trial.
We were rewarded with nearly 40 entries Some say this is a shame for the kind of trial this is. However, just to keep this fantastic piece of land in use keeps us going. Hardly June weather was on the agenda with brief rain showers and small chinks of sunshine. I say brief, hardly any! We were over run with observers and were very thankful that every section was marshalled.
It seemed the sections got a little harder as the day wore on, so, those that got off early probably had the best of the going.
One thing that Halton Gill offers is a good ride around. So, a simple section becomes an arduous task when arm pump has set in on the third lap. Danny Gamble was the top dog with Dave Petty topping the clubman A and riding an immaculate 90's Gas Gas Anthony Ayrton was triumphant on clubman B with Paul Gravlstock keeping him on his toes with another retro ride on the twinshock Fantic. We hope you all enjoyed yourself and tell your friends for next year....
